Pool Paving Perth
Travertine paving running from a covered alfresco past a swimming pool and out to a lawn as one continuous surface

Paving services Perth

Paving services across Perth, in five kinds of job with one method under all of them. Every paver goes down on a full bed of mortar over a compacted base, whether it is a pool surround, a driveway or somebody else's paving being taken up and laid again.

Which of these is your job

Most enquiries are one of five things, and the page for each goes into the detail that matters for that kind of work.

If a job is two of them at once, which plenty are, it is quoted as one job.

Pool coping and capping

The edge everybody touches and everybody looks at. Bullnose, square edge and drop face, cut to the curve of the pool rather than forced around it.

03

Driveway paving

The one surface that has to carry a car every day for twenty years. Base, falls, bond and edge restraint, all decided before anything is laid.

Alfresco and outdoor living

One floor carried out through the door so the room does not stop at the threshold. Levels, falls and slip rating all decided at the same time.

What does not change between jobs

A driveway and a pool coping look nothing alike and the sequence underneath them is identical. It is the sequence, not the stone, that decides whether either of them is still flat in ten years.

  1. 01

    Compacted base, checked for fall

Water has to leave the paving. That is decided before a single paver is laid, not patched afterwards.

  2. 02

    Full wet mortar bed

Every paver is bedded into wet mortar across its whole underside. No voids, nothing to rock, nothing for water to sit in.

  3. 03

    Cut to the curve

Coping is cut to follow the pool, tapered piece by piece. Forcing straight units around a radius is what opens joints.

  4. 04

    Grouted and finished

Joints filled properly so sand cannot wash out, ants cannot get under it, and the surface stays one piece.

What we lay

Five families cover almost everything. Which one is right depends on where it faces, what the pool interior is, and whether anybody is walking on it barefoot.

What is and is not in scope

What we do

  • Supply and lay, wet, on a prepared base, quoted as one number
  • Jobs from a single pool surround up to a full backyard
  • Breaking out and carting away an existing surface before we start
  • Laying onto a sound existing slab where the levels and the falls work
  • Coping on its own, without touching the paving behind it

What we do not

  • Patch repairs, where the base is the real problem
  • An overlay onto a slab that is cracked or still moving
  • Concrete pours, asphalt, bitumen or spray-on toppings
  • A quote on a job we have not stood on
