Paving materials we lay in Perth
We lay four materials around Perth pools, alfrescos and courtyards, and which one you choose changes how the surface behaves as well as how it looks. Here's what each one is good at, where it suits best, and how to look after it.
Crazy paving
Cut and fitted on site, piece to piece. The surface for a freeform pool or an awkward courtyard.
Watch out for: underfoot, rather than under a car.
Travertine paving
The default Perth pool stone. Cool underfoot, grippy wet, and sealed before we leave.
Watch out for: sunny spots more than shaded ones.
Limestone paving
Pale, local and soft. At its best against a limestone wall or under an alfresco.
Watch out for: worth a conversation for a pool or a driveway.
Porcelain paving
Near zero absorption, exact sizing, never needs sealing. The low maintenance answer.
Watch out for: go pale around a pool.
Why the material changes the price
The method underneath is identical on all four. Everything above it is not. Crazy paving is cut and fitted piece by piece and the labour is most of the job. Large format porcelain is a two person lift with a primer on every paver. Reconstituted limestone is quick to lay and inexpensive to buy.
So the material you choose moves the number, and it moves it in both directions. Each page above says what drives the price on that surface, and if you send us a photo and a rough size we will price the actual job rather than quote you a rate that fits none of them.
